Project:  Orient/East-Med Corridor (Rail CX): Modernization of Tabanovce - Gevgelija Railway Line

Description: In the country the Rail Corridor X starts at Tabanovce in the north and ends at Gevgelija in the south (215 km). Although it is operational on its entire length, the signalling and communications systems are outdated, which is seriously affecting traffic flows and safety.

In 2016, the WBIF approved two grants to finance the preparation of the pre-feasibility studies for the installation and implementation of ETCS Level 1 and GSM-R, new and modern signalling and communications systems, as well as the EU technical standards on the entire Corridor in the country.
